Private Utility Locating Beyond 811

Know what’s below before your shovel, trencher, or auger finds it first.

Planning work near a home, farm, shop, or commercial property? I locate privately owned lines that 811 typically does not mark—so you can dig with a clearer picture of what’s underground.

Straight Answers

No pretending every line is traceable.

Useful Documentation

Clear markings, with GPS/RTK mapping or aerial site documentation when conditions allow.

What’s hiding past the meter?

811 marks public utilities up to the service point. Many lines on private property are owner-maintained and may not be included.

⚡ Power & lighting
Detached garages, shops, barns, sheds, landscape lighting, and other traceable electrical runs.

💧 Water & fuel
Traceable water lines and private LP/gas lines.

📡 Communications & controls
Internet, cable, low-voltage, irrigation wiring, and dog-fence wires.

More than paint: Line-fault finding  •  GPS/RTK mapping  •  Aerial site documentation when conditions allow

A quick reality check: Non-metallic utilities can often be located from a usable access point. Depending on the utility, I may use a sonde, conductive fish tape, traceable rodder, existing tracer wire, or another suitable method to introduce a traceable signal. Results depend on access and field conditions. BelowMark does not provide GPR or leak detection.

Simple process. Clear answers.

1. Tell me what you’re planning
Share where you’ll dig, what you’re installing, and what you know about the property.

2. I locate on site
I trace accessible private utilities, verify the signal, and mark the route as accurately as site conditions allow.

3. You leave with a clearer plan
Markings are explained before I leave. Mapping or site documentation can be added when useful.
